Students from Hamtramck High School and Wylie Elementary School (fourth graders) submitted writings about their thoughts on the impact of climate change based on a Challenge Letter from Planet Detroit, a weekly email newsletter for residents in Detroit and Michigan about the environment.
I love that students had an authentic outlet for sharing their thoughts through Planet Detroit. We need more platforms like this to engage youth voices in our public discourse.
This is such an empowering project. Giving youth the opportunity and platform to share their voices gives them the confidence to advocate more in the future.
