Learning Volunteer Program
Support Student Learning in Meaningful Ways
Increase your school or classroom’s capacity for place-based education teaching and projects by building a base of trained volunteers who can assist with the outdoor class management, inquiry-based learning, modeling curiosity and guiding reflection.
Unlike traditional chaperones, Learning Volunteers are prepared to actively support and engage in student learning, helping connect classroom lessons to the real world through outdoor exploration, community-based projects and hands-on experiences.
This program draws parents, guardians, and community members closer into the learning process, fostering intergenerational relationships and creating authentic shared experiences in the schoolyard and beyond. By welcoming all volunteers to take part in this training, we aim to make school more accessible, welcoming and connected for every student and family.
